In the EU it is a simple electronic signature (eIDAS), which cannot be denied legal effect just because it is electronic; in the US it is an electronic signature under the ESIGN Act and UETA. NDAs have no special form requirement, so this is how most data rooms collect them. For agreements that by law need a handwritten or qualified signature, use a qualified e-signature provider.
