What works

  • One idea per slide, almost no text – it reads in under three minutes.
  • Market size built top-down in three steps (all trips → budget and online trips → the share they target) instead of one giant number.
  • The business model fits in one line: a commission on every booking.

What is missing

  • Very little traction – at the time the proof came from comparable demand (similar sites and listings), not from Airbnb itself.
  • The team slide lists roles, not why these three founders would win.
  • Competition is a positioning grid – useful, but it does not explain why incumbents could not copy it.

Would it raise money in 2026?

A seed investor in 2026 would expect real usage data – bookings, repeat rate, host supply growth – where Airbnb showed external validation. The structure itself is still the template most seed decks follow.
