DocSend eSignature and NDA (2026): Plans, Limits and How It Works

Updated · HelpRange

Short answer: DocSend has two signature features. eSignature (signable documents) is on every plan. Personal is limited to 4 signature requests per user per month, and Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms are unlimited. You can use one-click, single-party or multi-party signing with up to 10 signers. NDA before access (DocSend calls it "Agreements", with the "Require agreement to view" setting) is only on Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms, from $150/month billed yearly for 3 users. Both are electronic signatures under the US ESIGN Act and UETA. DocSend's help center says they are not compliant with e-signature rules outside the United States.

Disclosure: HelpRange is our product and competes with DocSend. DocSend facts come from docsend.com/pricing and the DocSend help center (help.docsend.com, now on help.dropbox.com), read on 7 November 2026. HelpRange facts were checked against our own product.

How DocSend eSignature works

  1. Make a document signable: in the Content library, use "Convert to signable", or Customize to place fields (create signable documents).
  2. Choose the type: one-click, single-party, or multi-party with up to 10 signers.
  3. Share the link. You get real-time notifications as people sign, and audit trails are included on all plans.
  4. After signing: both sides get an e-mail. The signer's e-mail has the signed document and certificate behind a link valid for 24 hours. The sender's e-mail has a ZIP whose link does not expire. You can save signed documents to Dropbox automatically.

Limits to know:

  • On Personal, you get 4 signable links per user per month. They are one-time links (no re-signable links), and the credits are shared across the company and do not roll over.
  • Signable documents cannot be watermarked.
  • The trial is capped at 50 signatures.

How NDA before access works in DocSend

  1. Create an Agreement from your own NDA or DocSend's NDA template. "Require agreement to view" is on by default when you create one.
  2. Attach it to a document link or a Space. In a Space you can require it for the whole Space or only for specific folders or files (Space link settings).
  3. The visitor enters a name and e-mail, ticks the certification box and clicks "I agree". With a single-party agreement they also fill in fields and sign on the document.
  4. The record: a signed copy is e-mailed to both the visitor and the link owner, with a ZIP holding the certificate and audit trail.

Agreements require Advanced ($150/month yearly, 3 users) or Advanced Data Rooms ($180/month yearly, 3 users). For e-mail verification to be sure who signed, use the Advanced e-mail authentication setting. Source: Agreements; prices from DocSend pricing.

HelpRange NDA before access and e-signature, compared

HelpRange's e-signature is the NDA in front of documents, not a general contract-signing tool. If you need to send contracts for signature, use DocSend eSignature or a dedicated e-signature tool. If you need an NDA signed before anyone sees a deck, CIM or data room, this is how the two compare:
