How Sterling VDR pricing works

QuestionWhat Sterling says (7 Nov 2026)
Published priceNone. Prices come through the Get a quote form.
When you start payingDeal preparation is free; you "only pay once the deal is live".
Pricing modelDescribed as "transparent pricing"; the basis (per page, per GB, per user or flat per project) is not stated on the site.
Free trialNot stated; the free preparation period works as one.

We could not find a published Sterling price on the vendor's site or a reliable third-party price, so we do not quote one. When you ask for a quote, get these in writing:

  1. The pricing unit (pages, GB, users or a flat project fee) and what happens if the room grows.
  2. The minimum term and the monthly price after it ends – deals often run longer than planned.
  3. Whether Q&A, redaction, translation and AI are included or priced as modules.
  4. The cost of the archive (encrypted copy) at closing.
  5. Whether bidder and adviser users are unlimited.

Sterling vs HelpRange

Sterling is built for large, multi-bidder transactions: structured Q&A, redaction, translation and a banker-friendly process, priced by quote. HelpRange is for smaller deals that want a public price and a room ready in an afternoon: per-person permissions, click-to-sign NDA before access, a watermark with each viewer's e-mail, page-by-page reading time and AI answers from the room's documents. HelpRange has no human Q&A routing, no redaction and no SOC 2 report. Your whole team, unlimited guests, one price. Or $199 for a single deal. No sales call.
