Audit log vs page analytics vs heatmaps
- Audit log – a record of events: user X opened document Y at 10:42, downloaded it, printed it. It is what lawyers ask for after the deal: proof of what was disclosed to whom.
- Page analytics – how long each viewer stayed on each page. It tells you which part of the financials the buyer studied, and which they skipped.
- Heatmaps and replays – where on a page the reader moved, clicked and scrolled, and a replay of the visit. Useful for a pitch deck or a CIM: did they reach the projections slide, or stop at the team page?
For due diligence you need the audit log. For a fundraise or a sale where you want to read buyer interest, page analytics are what tell you who is serious.

- Can I export the full activity of one party at the end of the deal, and in what format?
- Are anonymous link visitors identified, or shown only as an IP address?
